Bonbón is European Champion and a father at the same time!

Our youngest Birman tomcat Beethoven Johnnatarie (Bonbón) Chocolate Point SBI b, 2021. 06.11. born in Barcelona, Spain. born in Barcelona, Spain. His full genetic screening, as you would expect in our kennel, was done in the most modern genetic laboratory in Australia. Bonbón’s genetic test was negative on all points.

2022.10.30. European Champion at WCF World Show in Belgrade!

Despite his young age, he is already the proud father of 3 litters!

But let’s not jump so far ahead!

Bonbón was selected after more than 6 months of active search. Every day, my daughter Anna and I were looking for the right cat to replace Azzurro. In the end, we chose Bonbón because we suspected from the video footage we received from his breeder that, like Azzurro, we would get a big teddy bear just waiting to be loved.

Fortunately, the reality has exceeded even our expectations. 🙂

Bonbón is an extremely sweet, incredibly affectionate cat. There is also very little aggressiveness or hardness. He always approaches cautiously and bites, offering himself up for affection. Even the purr is soft and supple. 🙂

He is also very calm at shows. You don’t stress about anything. He eats, drinks, plays, as if it is the most natural thing in the world to drive for long hours, sleep in a hotel and spend whole days in a plastic tent. Between a million strangers and cats.

To become European Champion, he had to appear in many exhibitions in many countries.

Each title must be awarded 3 times to the cats by 3 different judges. For the International Championship title and the International Grand Championship title, you must have received one of the 3 different judges’ judgements at a foreign show.

From European Championship titles must be awarded in 3 different countries by 3 different judges. The World Expo is a continent in itself.

Show Results

So we had quite a journey, but Bombi did a great job. We are really proud of it. Thanks of course to the breeder. 🙂

My favourite incident at exhibitions was when the judge tried to put her on all fours to see her stature, but as soon as her feet hit the table she immediately broke down to be petted. The judge fought with him for a while and then gave up, laughing and stroking him. 🙂

In addition to the titles, Bonbón also collected many Nominations and was awarded BEST in Show at one of the shows. As I took his huge cup, he was already there in my hand trying to get it from me. I put him in the show tent (Sturdi) next to her, where he hugged her cup with both paws and slept like that until the end of the show. It was very moving. He absolutely seemed to know that he got it and was very happy with the judges decision.

Bombi’s kindness and boundless trust applies not only to people but also to cats. He proved to be a very caring and gentle lover. He quickly became a favourite with the girls. 🙂

Her first kittens were born to Saba Sophia. Sophia has had kittens before from our International Champion Albafeles Darcy male. His experience helped Bonbi build confidence in the art of courtship. 🙂 All of our kittens from this litter have found a new owner.

And the mother of the second and third litter is none other than Bonbón’s childhood playmates International Grand Champion Saba Lana and International Champion Saba Kamil.

These apples may yet become Birman kittens, when you read this article.

Kölykök

If not, don’t despair Bonbi is just starting his breeding career. We hope that he will be the father of many litters. 🙂

And Birman kittens are available for pre-registration in our Saba/Sabacat Birman kennel all year round.
