Birman cat price?

  • How much does a Burmese Holy Templars kitten cost?

Well, this is not an easy question to answer.

  • What quality Birman kiscia price are we looking for?

Because we distinguish between a puppy that is primarily recommended for a family member, a breeding quality Burmese Holy Temple cat and of course a Birman kitten with such perfect characteristics that it is even recommended for racing. Obviously the price will rise in that order.

It doesn’t matter what kennel your Birman cat comes from. There are huge differences between kennel and kennel, breeder and breeder.

  • What determines this difference? What makes a kennel a premium kennel, an average kennel, or a breeder?

This is such a complex issue that I will deal with it in a separate blog post. I will only respond here in a sketchy way.

Time, work, money, professional knowledge, dedication and the actual investment and expenditure of these ingredients. All of this is an integral part of the Burmese Holy Temple kitten we will actually be taking home and from now on it will be part of our lives, our everyday life, hopefully for 15-20 years!

The Burmese Holy Temple cat, also known as the Birman cat, is a middle breed of cat. There are also much cheaper and more expensive varieties. In my Saba / Sabacat kennel the current price, that I have not raised the price compared to 2024, is currently between 1000-2000 Euro.

There is an equestrian proverb and I always think of it when people ask me the price of a Birman cat, because I have been dealing with not only cats and dogs but also horses for a very long time.

“There is nothing more expensive than a cheap horse!!!”

This is also true for all pets, pedigree dogs and cats!!! Of course not only the Birman cat. 🙂

In the case of horses, it is very easy to see this. The annual maintenance costs are so high that you will pay several times the purchase price in a few years. That’s what it costs, or much more, to maintain a less comfortable, easy-to-handle horse and then you’re still driving a Trabant, but you’ve already paid the price of several BMWs.

I hope my analogy is clear.

For dogs and cats, the annual cost is not that high. And in the case of Birman cats, even if you buy the best of everything, it’s still not a burden on the average family’s income.

DE!!!

As with all pets that live with us and are dear to us, we love our pets and they become part of our family. And from now on, if we have a problem with it, we will experience it not only as a material loss, but as a psychological trauma!!!

Unfortunately, this is something that many people forget to consider when making a purchase. But if there is trouble, there can easily be big trouble. I am thinking here of the skyrocketing veterinary costs. Sorry, but among breeders, the only thing we say about pets bought from the market is “vets have to make a living” …. 🙂

In my opinion, where that pet came from is very much a matter of consideration. who will be part of our family. It’s much better to make a serious financial investment once than to be disappointed and have to run to the vets later.

If you don’t have the full amount available, wait and buy after 1 or 2 years, as you are planning to keep the Birman cat for a long time. The subscription system has worked well for me for 12 years. Everyone has 1 year to choose a kitten. 🙂

If you’re thinking about a pedigree pet, buy one that truly represents the breed. Don’t buy “like”, “similar” pets for less. In the case of my own breed, I can safely say that it is awful what Birman cats can be bought with a pedigree!!!. Many times even at shows I see specimens where even the breed is not recognizable!!!

Hungarian dog and cat breeders are very good compared to the international field. But many of them lack the professional knowledge and confidence to do it, even though we should be proud! 🙂

There are only a handful of cat breeders who have been competing regularly at international shows for many years and whose work helps to promote quality breeding and the breeding and preservation of the breeds.

By buying from them, buyers not only do the best for themselves, but also actively contribute to the quality of their chosen “love” breed by choosing a dedicated and committed breeder for their pet. 🙂

Finally, I would like to ask all volunteer animal rights activists not to flood me with a lot of comments on why we should take pets home from the streets or adopt them from shelters!

Helping pets in distress is a very noble cause indeed! This article is about something quite different. And before they jump on me that of course the breeder… I set up and ran my own private animal shelter. Which I am very proud of, because I have run not only a dog and cat shelter, but an actual animal shelter, completely on my own, with my own income (not donations), with my own work. Where there was room for everyone from foxes to crows, ferrets to raccoons, giant snakes to rabbits, who needed help.

Quality breeding, which I do with the same commitment, is in my opinion incompatible with animal welfare from a hygiene point of view.

Both are necessary and can and should be discussed, not in a mutually offensive way, but only in a helpful way. 🙂
