Since 2012, with many years of experience behind us, we have been working with passion and commitment to breed premium quality kittens.
We are self-aware that we are not only cat breeders, but also a caring family that raises each and every kitten with love. We are committed to quality and we refrain from mass breeding.
At SábaCat Cattery, our main goal is to become the highest-quality Birman breeder in Europe.
For us, the well-being of the cats is the most important, which is why we dedicate a lot of time, energy, and resources to their care and development.
We believe that love and care are the foundation of successful breeding.
Since childhood, I have been fascinated by animals. In high school, I studied fox behavior, and for my first thesis, I wrote about the behavior of venomous snakes, both based on my experiences with my own animals. I graduated in Biology and Chemistry from ELTE, then worked for 24 years as the managing director and co-owner of a branded clothing retail company, during which time I also earned an Economics degree from BGF. I speak Hungarian, English, and Spanish.
I trained my first dog at the age of 11, and soon after, I took on the role of a trainer at the dog school, eventually leading the competition group. Later, I founded a private dog boarding facility and residential dog school, where I successfully prepared around 30 dogs for work trials. With the income generated from this, I established a shelter that provided a home not only for dogs and cats but also for unwanted wild animals—such as Bleró, the albino ferret, and Perszil, the raccoon.
The sensitivity and intuition of animals have always fascinated me. During walks, stray dogs or cats often joined us, and I would take them home, care for them, and try to find them a new home. However, the fate of the dogs given away for free often took a turn for the worse, so later I made sure to pass them on only to responsible owners.
Many of the stories of the cats I took in were heartbreaking, which eventually led me to strictly keep and breed them indoors, ensuring their safety. Among my first cats were Sába, a blue Siamese who lived with me for 19 years, and Pamacs, a silver-shaded Persian. Sába’s loss left a deep mark on me, and it set me on the path to finding the next cat who could fill the void in my heart – this is how Doroty, a beautiful Birman female, came into my life.
My cats live with us as family members, and they currently have access to four indoor-outdoor runs in our large garden, as well as separate rooms in the house to ensure their comfort in every way.
My only help in cat breeding is my 14-year-old daughter, Anna Bella Bobály, who actively participates in taking care of the cats. English is practically her second native language, and she is also proficient in Spanish, which she has been learning since she was 7 years old, and studied German for 8 years in school. Beyond her love for cats, Bella is a real sports enthusiast.
Bella was not only born into the world of cats but also actively helps with daily tasks: I can count on her for photo shoots, selecting images, feeding, and preparing for shows, even abroad. She makes decisions regarding the purchase of kittens, helps decide who we give them to, and is present at every handover of a kitten. Bella’s enthusiasm and dedication to the cats clearly show that she would love to work in this field in the future as well.

Our cattery works closely with leading cat associations and veterinarians, who regularly monitor and support our work. The recognition from our partners and veterinarians ensures that we operate at the highest standards, providing the best care for all our cats.
Our kennel operates as a completely closed family, where our female cats only interact with our male cats, and the males exclusively serve our own females. We do not allow any external breeding. This hygiene rule also applies to the kittens born in our cattery—once a kitten leaves our kennel, we are unable to take it back.
At SábaCat Cattery, quality assurance is paramount. We conduct genetic tests for all our cats at the most advanced Australian laboratory, ensuring they are free from known genetic diseases. The results are always negative, and you can view them on each cat’s profile.
The Birman breed has no known genetic breed-specific diseases, but we take every precaution to ensure that our cats are in the best possible condition when they move to their new homes.
Unlike other catteries, we don’t stop at genetic testing. In addition to this, we continuously screen and monitor our breeding cats through ultrasound tests, blood tests, and complete parasitological stool tests. Moreover, we provide a 2-year breeding guarantee against genetic diseases, ensuring that you can welcome a healthy and happy cat into your family.
Ultrasound, blood tests for FIV and FeLV, stool tests for Enteric Corona, Giardia, and complete Parasitology. View test results:
