2025 – An Active International Year

In 2025, new Saba families arrived in 12 countries:

The international story of Saba Birman continues to grow today — with new families in new countries.

When Two Hearts Arrive Home Together

Many international families choose two kittens at once.

Not only can the cost of transport be more favorable this way, but kittens arriving together adapt much more easily to their new home.

Familiar play, familiar scents, a familiar companion. The first days thus begin not with uncertainty, but with immediate life and security.

The reservation system allows you to choose the most suitable kitten in time – whether one or two.

International Kitten Placement and Travel

Saba Birman is not a shipping company.

Our goal is to help families – even from other countries or continents – who wish to welcome a Saba Birman kitten as a family member.

Over the past 13+ years, a network of reliable transport options and partners has been established, enabling kittens to safely reach their new homes in many countries around the world.

Kitten placement always occurs with a formal sales contract and invoice, in full compliance with relevant animal welfare and international transport regulations.
The specific conditions are always determined by the regulations of the receiving country.

We assist families with organizing transport if requested – this support is part of the purchase price of Saba Birman kittens – but it is, of course, not mandatory to use.
Families can also choose their own transporter or personal pickup, provided the solution is safe and reliable.

Kittens can arrive at their new families in several ways:

  • personal pickup at our home
  • meeting at Budapest Airport
  • flight with an (onboard) escort, where the kitten travels in the cabin
  • quality, pet-friendly car transport, which takes the kitten directly to the family’s home
  • or cargo flight, which we primarily use for other continents

The images on this page show real moments from the most recent onboard journey in December 2025.

The goal in every case is for the kitten’s journey to be calm, safe, and well-organized – whether it’s a few hours’ trip or a longer journey to another continent.

Over the past years, Saba Birman kittens have arrived at their new families in many countries around the world, and each such journey has been the beginning of a new story.

After the journey, the real story begins: moments and feedback from Saba Birman cats in their new families can be seen on the “Happiness Achieved” page.

International Exhibition Presence

Saba Birman cats are present not only in family homes but also on international exhibition stages.

To achieve higher championship titles in the WCF system, successful participation in multiple countries, and even separate continents, is required.

This means these cats regularly travel to exhibitions in various countries – by plane, car, or train – and often stay in hotels or apartments during the exhibitions.

The cattery’s cats hold numerous international championship, European championship, and world-level titles. Most recently, in 2025, new international and European championship results were also achieved at the WCF Cat Olympics and World Show.

This international presence offers a glimpse into the daily lives of Saba Birman cats: the lives of animals that naturally move through various environments around the world – from the calm atmosphere of hotel stays to the bustling, spotlighted world of international exhibitions.

Detailed exhibition results of Saba Birman cats and an introduction to the WCF association background can be found in the “WCF Association Background and Exhibition Results” submenu.

Saba Birman – A Conscious Choice

Birman Kitten Price – What Does It Really Mean?

The price of Saba Birman kittens is not just a number, but a complete, documented system: genetic background, continuous veterinary program, international experience, and over a decade of consistent breeding work.

Saba Birman is not a mass product. The cattery raises only a limited number of litters each year.

Not a quick decision.

Rather, it’s the beginning of a relationship that enriches a family’s life for years. This is why families from various countries around the world choose Saba Birman cats.

The path is open for those who choose quality.

1. Do you undertake international transport, and what ethical principles guide the transport?

Available to: Saba Birman Cattery undertakes international transport, and our kittens have successfully found new homes in over 26 countries across four continents.

Transport is possible to, among others:

  • within the European Union
  • the USA
  • Canada
  • certain countries in Asia
  • certain regions of Central America

All transport is carried out according to the veterinary, official, and airline protocols of the respective country, exclusively in cooperation with reliable, experienced partners.

Our ethical principle: we do not place kittens in long, strenuous, or stressful quarantine situations.

If the entry requirements for a particular country would mandate a compulsory, long quarantine, we do not undertake direct transport.

In such cases, we seek an alternative, responsible solution – for example, transport to another suitable country from which the family can continue the journey privately.

The details of the transport are always discussed and agreed upon in advance, and the process only begins when the safest and most gentle solution for the kitten is available.

The kitten's well-being always takes precedence over logistical or temporal considerations.

2. When can the kitten move?

  • Within Hungary: from 12 weeks
  • Abroad: rabies vaccination (12 weeks old) + 21 days, usually 15–16 weeks of age
  • Saba protocol: +1 week immune stabilization before travel

A kitten never leaves earlier than what is safe.

3. Why is it beneficial for you that Saba Birman Cattery has documented international experience?

Because an international kitten placement is not just transport, but responsible organization.

The continuous international operation since 2012, with documented presence in 4 continents and 26 countries, means that the process is transparent, legally compliant, and animal-friendly. Selection, administration, and travel are personally coordinated, not through an automated system.

This way, you are not experimenting.

Instead, you are entrusting your decision to a cattery with over a decade of documented international experience."
